This dialog will allow you to compress a jpg file.  Click on an item for more information.

FILESIZE

• The file size in bytes of the image before compression.

FILESIZE

• The file size of the image after compression.

WIDTH

• The width of the image in pixels.

HEIGHT

• The height of the image in pixels.

SLIDER

• The slider indicates the compression ratio.  Slider the cursor toward 0 to get a smaller image.  The default is 75% compression. 

COMPRESS

• Compresses the image to the percentage set on the slider.  The new image is displayed in the preview image dialog.  You can only compress the image once.  If the image is satisfactory, save the image.  If you want to try a different compression setting, click on the undo button and the original image is returned and the save button is disabled and the compress button is enabled .

UP/DOWN

• Click on the up button to increase the compression ration and the down button to decrease the ratio.

CLOSE

• Closes the dialog.  The current image is used.  Make sure that the image being displayed is satisfactory for display.

UNDO

• Undo the last compression.  The original image is displayed in the preview window.

  SAVE

• Saves the compressed image to the original filename.
